About Pitman Training in Portlaoise, Co. Laois
Welcome to Pitman Portlaoise. We opened our centre in June 2019 as part of the Pitman Training family, which has been a leader in professional education since 1837. Today, we have training centres across Ireland and beyond. We transform careers through practical skills training. Whether you want to learn something new, return to work, or develop your team’s abilities, we offer more than 250+ diploma and certificate courses. Our modern centre provides a quiet, professional space where you can focus on your studies without interruption.
We’re here for students across the Midlands. From our base in Portlaoise, we serve communities throughout Laois, including Abbeyleix, Portarlington, Durrow, Mountmellick, Mountrath and Stradbally. We also welcome learners from Offaly and Tipperary, including those from Clonmel, Tullamore, Birr, Nenagh and Thurles.
Our centre opens Monday to Saturday, closing Sundays and Bank Holidays. Can’t make it during regular hours? Enquire about our available evening classes, part-time study, online courses and distance learning. Our Course Advisor can explain all these options and help you choose what works best.

Our centre in Laois is conveniently located at the Kea-Lea Business Park in Portlaoise and is easily accessible via a variety of transport options including bus or car, and it’s just a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
The career-focussed training centre opened in June 2019 with state of the art facilities and comfortable training rooms. We have designed our centre to provide you with a professional environment with the best space to focus and train in comfort without unnecessary distraction.

Flexible Training

Training and test times are flexible which means you can choose the days and times you attend and the length of each training session.
You can train with us full-time or part-time, evenings and weekends as well as using our unique blended learning approach, meaning you can complete the vast majority of many of our programmes from home.
Our courses are practically based, not purely theoretical. The information, combined with the opportunity to learn by testing your newly acquired skills in a ‘safe’ environment, is particularly beneficial to the learning process.
