A New Chapter: Nathalie’s Career Transition

I began my journey with Pitman Training in Kerry earlier this year, after a brilliant chat with Amy Byrne. For over 13 years, I’d been working on and off in different healthcare settings as a Support Worker and Carer’s Assistant. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with people with special needs and the elderly, I felt it was time for a change.

This year, I decided to branch out and try something different. I’d previously dabbled in reception work through volunteering and Community Employment Schemes, which sparked my interest in administrative roles. After discussing my options with Amy, she suggested the Medical Secretary course. I reviewed the course list, weighed up my choices, and decided to go for it.

I’ve already completed the Microsoft Office module and I’m steadily progressing through the rest of the course. I must say, it’s been a fantastic experience so far. One of the best aspects is the flexibility – I can complete the coursework at my own pace, which allows me to balance my studies with other commitments.

The staff at Pitman Training Kerry have been absolutely brilliant. They’re incredibly helpful, understanding, and approachable. Whenever I’ve felt a bit worried or needed extra support, they’ve been there to lend a hand.

I wholeheartedly endorse the course at Pitman Training. The ability to study at your own time and pace is invaluable. Personally, I find I’m always more motivated when I attend the centre. A top tip: having 2 monitors really helps when doing the course, as does having the course books on hand.

This experience has opened up a world of possibilities for me, both personally and professionally. If you’re considering a career change or looking to enhance your skills, I’d definitely recommend giving Pitman Training a go!
