What is AAT, and why does it matter?
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the world’s leading professional body for accounting technicians, supporting members and students across more than 100 countries — including through Pitman Training’s centres in Ireland. AAT qualifications are recognised by employers from small practices to blue-chip corporates.
Why it matters for you:
- Employer recognition — AAT is one of the qualifications employers specifically look for when hiring finance staff
- Career progression — leads to full AAT membership (MAAT) and exemptions towards chartered accountancy study
- Practical, job-ready skills — the syllabus is built directly from the Professional Accounting Technician occupational standard, not just theory
- A recognised level — this Level 4 qualification is equivalent to Level 7 in Ireland and Level 8 in Scotland (SCQF), so employers across all three nations recognise exactly where it sits
