Socrates GP is Ireland’s leading provider of integrated practice management software to GP Practices, Hospital Consultants and Primary Care Centres. Every day thousands of healthcare professionals use Socrates software to streamline routine tasks, manage practice finances, reduce paperwork, enhance the quality of patient care and improve practice efficiency.

Pitman Training Centres in Ireland are now offering a Socrates GP accredited online course that will enable you to learn all about the processes of GP and Healthcare practice management, using the very latest 2018 software version.

The course consists of five modules:

Module One includes: Introduction to the main components of Socrates GP software

Module Two includes: Patient Registration, Managing Patient Accounts, Insurance Schemes

Module Three includes: Managing Consultations, Immunisations, Prescriptions, Documents

Module Four includes: Messaging in Socrates, Managing Contacts and User Tasks

Module Five includes: Managing Drugs in Socrates, and the Document Management System

Studying the Socrates GP course gives you the opportunity to gain both Socrates and Pitman Training certification. Socrates GP is a core course in the Medical Secretary Diploma, the Medical Admin Diploma, the Medical Receptionist Diploma and in the Medical Office Award. These diplomas offer you the chance to acquire the skills needed to work in a GP Practice as a Medical Secretary, Receptionist or Medical Administrator.

Those already working in healthcare, such as nurses, doctors, medical secretaries and administrators, ward clerks and assistants will also benefit from completing this structured learning programme.

Aims and Objectives

On successful completion of this course you will be able to demonstrate your ability to carry out the administrative duties involved in a 21st century GP Surgery. For example, you will be able to register new patients, make appointments, check GP availability within the practice, assign patients to available GPs, undertake online validation of medical cards, and manage patient accounts and records.
