Pitman Training Wexford was established more than 15 years ago, a member of the largest independent network of training centres in Ireland and since June 2018 a part of the Pitman Training South group comprising Waterford, Cork and Kerry. In fact, the Pitman Training Ireland network of training centres are having a hugely successful year and have been shortlisted for nomination in the Education Awards 2019, winners soon to be announced in February!

With the widest range of courses in Wexford, and moving into a brand new state of the art centre in a new location it has been a welcome addition to the jobs, training and careers landscape in Wexford, enhancing jobs and career opportunities for existing and new students in the county and surrounding areas.

Q So what can you expect if you meet with a Course Advisor in Wexford?
A We offer a complimentary meeting with our in-house Course Advisor which gives you a chance to chat about what your career goals might be such as updating your skills, looking to gain industry standard qualifications, re-training to change your career or maybe you are refreshing your skills in order to return to work after a career break. Alternatively, you could be looking for training solutions that fit well with you or your company’s staff. Whichever the reason, our mission is to do as much as we can to help you get ahead in your career. Our Course Advisors have a wealth of experience in offering specialist career advice and support with CVs, Interview techniques and general career guidance.
Q What type of training is offered from this centre?
A Career focused, flexible training that fits around your life commitments. Our blended learning approach means you can train part-time, full-time or via home-study. We offer several different types such as Diplomas, Awards and Courses which vary in duration and training method. There really is something to suit everyone.
Q What are the most popular courses available?
A Our Secretarial and Specialist Secretarial range of professional training courses remain very popular due to employer demand, such as Secretarial, Medical and Legal Secretary Diploma courses and our top Executive PA Diploma. Microsoft Office courses such as Excel and Word also feature very highly as do Bookkeeping and Accounting Technician courses. In recent times, the Digital Marketing and Social Media courses have proved very beneficial in the jobs market to our students as has our IT Support Technician Diploma courses.
Q What makes it different from the rest?
A Currently Pitman Training has the highest employment record in Ireland of any training organisation, with over 90% of students working in a new or better career within the same year of graduation. It is practical hands-on learning delivered over one of the most flexible training methods. You train when you want.
Q Where are you located?
A We are now located in our new training centre at Unit 10, Westpoint Business Park, Clonard, Wexford Town which is about 4Kms from the centre of town and is easily accessible via a variety of transport options including bus or car, about 40 mins walk from Custom House Quay.

Jessica Donohoe - Course Advisor
Jessica was a very welcome addition to the team during the transition period last Summer, she trained first as a tutor under the skilful eye of Betty and subsequently went through an intensive training period in head office to qualify as a Course Advisor. She has been meeting and guiding students through their various life and career changing decisions over the last few months. Her positivity is infectious and you find yourself walking with an extra bounce in your step having spent some time with her.

Betty Dempsey - Course Tutor
Betty is a long-standing member of the Pitman Training group, she has been working in Pitman Training Wexford for many years now and brings with her a vast knowledge of the education and training industry. Betty goes over and above for her students and is much loved by all. An animal lover, Betty does voluntary work with an animal rights organisation in her spare time. Together with Jessica, they make up what we very fondly call our “Wexford dream team”.
